Natick's proud Indian history

As a 1947 graduate of Natick High, I was always proud of the Indian history of Natick, as Ed Carr so eloquently iterated, "Natick is an Indian word meaning place of hills'." The town was practically instituted by the Indians. Perhaps some of our well-educated school administrator and school committee members should talk an hour and visit the South Natick Library and learn some of Natick's Indian heritage.

I visited Wounded Knee two years ago and came away ashamed of our country's role in the massacre. After reading the book, "Bury my Heart of Wounded Knee," it struck me that perhaps we white men don't wish our children to know the true history of how we treated the Indians.
